We are extremely pleased to announce that the eq system has taken a young resident of Dąbrowa Górnicza – Danuta Grudzień – under its sponsorship during her participation in the Laser 4.7 Class Youth Sailing World Championships (ILCA 4). The championship will take place from 13-20 August 2022 in Vilamoura, Portugal.
Danuta is currently a student at the 1st Łukasiński High School in Dąbrowa Górnicza. She has been developing her passion for sailing since she was 6 years old. In competitions she represents the Students’ Sports Club SILESIA OPTY Chełm Śląski. So far Danusia has won many prestigious awards and titles, including the Polish Sprint Championship. She is an active and hard-working person who successfully combines sports training with school education. The young sailor is supported in fulfilling her passion on the water by her mother, who herself is a 4-time European Champion and 2-time World Vice-Champion in Sailing in the Hansa 303 class, as well as a sailing instructor specialising in training disabled people.
This year’s edition of the Laser 4.7 Class World Championships (ILCA 4) features 400 competitors from all over the world. The competition will take place over several days, during which participants will score points in the general classification.
The entire eq system team is keeping its fingers crossed for the title-winning competitor and wishes her the best of luck on the Atlantic!
